On National Rail trains
- Pay as you go journeys are treated as single tickets. South Western Railway says this on its Delay Repay page.
- You'll need proof of the journey: download your journey history or statement from your TfL contactless or Oyster account. Greater Anglia, c2c and Chiltern all ask for this.
- Claim from the train company whose train was late, as normal.
On the Elizabeth line and London Overground
These are run for TfL, which has its own scheme instead of Delay Repay. If you're delayed by 30 minutes or more you can get back the pay as you go single fare for that journey. Claim through your TfL contactless or Oyster account. TfL doesn't pay for delays outside its control, such as strikes, bad weather or security alerts.
Season tickets on Oyster
If you have a Travelcard on Oyster, TfL refunds the equivalent pay as you go single fare for a delayed journey.
See your amount in the calculator by choosing "Contactless or Oyster".
